A United Catholic Community

Our Mission as a Unified Catholic Community is to Share Faith, Celebrate Traditions, and Serve Others to the Praise and Glory of God!

  • Our Parish

Holy Redeemer (established 1925) and St. James the Less (established 1955) give unique witness to the bond of unity always present in the Roman Catholic Church. These "Mother and Daughter" parishes have been reunited (2007), to more effectively proclaim the Gospel and serve the people of the Crescenta Valley; through the shared use of resources and a more faithful stewardship of the gifts entrusted to us by God.

  • Sacramental Preparation

While we believe that human life is infused with the sacramental goodness of God, the Catholic Church has defined seven sacraments-instuted by and through the life of Jesus Christ. It is through the experience of the sacramental ritual that we are infused with God's grace. The Sacraments nourish and strengthen us as they express and build up our faith.

At Holy Redeemer-St James Parish Community, we encourage full participation in the sacramental life of the church. We hope that the sacraments enrich your already strong faith and that they bring your family more fully into our parish family.

    Baptism

    Eucharist

    Reconciliation

    Confirmation

    Marriage

    Anointing of the Sick

    Holy Orders & Religious Life

The Eucharist is "the source and summit of the Christian life." The holy Eucharist completes Christian initiation.

In our Parish Community, First Holy Communion is typically given to children in the 2nd grade and requires two years of instruction. Adults needing this Sacrament must go through the RCIA process.

  • youth in service
